Chorus Explorers

Please fill out the interest form below to help us get “Chorus Explorers” off the ground in January! We need your input!

Chorus Explorers is a non-performing music class for ages 3-5 where children will develop their musicality and social skills through songs, games, and movement in a developmentally appropriate way. Children will learn to participate in a group setting while exploring their instruments in a positive, nurturing, and silly environment. The Chorus Explorers will learn basic musical skills such as rhythm, terminology, and identification of sounds as well as vocal imitation skills. This class is for children of all abilities and all developmental stages. Chorus Explorers is a great way to prepare for Training Choir!

No audition is necessary to participate in any chorus at SSCC.

Must have at least 8 registrants in order for the program to run. Please fill out interest form below.

Nikki Pantaleo

Chorus Explorers Director

Nikki is a native of Braintree, MA who believes that music is for everyone and should be accessible to all. As an educator, Nikki has been teaching children since 2002 and more specifically, has been teaching music for 5 years to children from 3 months through age 7 for Sing Explore Create in Rockland. They enjoy working with children of all abilities.

As a musician, Nikki started formally learning the piano at age 12 and started voice lessons shortly after. From there, things kept progressing until college at Salem State University. There, they obtained a BA in Music with a concentration in voice and a minor in Theatre in 2007. Nikki trained under soprano Diana Jacklin while in school and they also enjoyed exploring and studying jazz vocals by singing in the Salem State Jazz Band for 3 years. Additionally, Nikki was selected to sing in a small vocal group called The Salem Express which performed Manhattan Transfer style pieces. In 2006, Nikki took a semester abroad to study in London at Regent’s University where they studied classical music and performed with the Choir of King’s College London.

Since then, Nikki has had the pleasure of singing in a group in New York City while they lived there, and many local groups here in Massachusetts.

While not teaching, Nikki is probably being pummeled by their 4 adorable children or playing videogames.

Nikki is excited to be more involved in the community of the South Shore and add new offerings to SSCC!
