The Summer Choral Intensive is a program that focuses on themes of leadership, personal responsibility, and musical intelligence. Students will be encouraged to prepare for the week with learning tools and aid provided by SSCC Staff in order to perform high-level choral repertoire. Students will also have the opportunity to attend music theory class geared for their level of knowledge, hear from guest speakers such as local professors and professional musicians, and benefit from group sectionals with a professional section leader of their specific voice type. The week culminates in a final performance on Friday evening, July 16th, featuring choral works rehearsed during the program. (The final production for 2021 may be in-person or virtual, depending on updated guidelines.) Choral Intensive Section Leaders must be available for the entirety of the camp, Monday, July 12, 2021 – Friday, July 16, 2021, 8:15 am – 4:00pm daily, and available for the final performance in the evening of July 16.
